Awake to righteousness!
I Corinthians 15:34 speaks of a spiritual awakening to righteousness; realizing what Jesus did for us to accept his love and forgiveness for our souls. I know this. I have this knowledge of God that Paul speaks of. But, the other day, as I read this verse, I thought, oh my!
What if,
my purpose is,
the first thing in the morning,when my being comes alive to the day,
not only my heart, but my mind, my body,
My whole being…
AWAKES to Righteousness!
Instead of checking my calendar,
I CHECK ME!
I’m going to awake or “wake up” to purposeful righteousness. I don’t mean reading scripture because it’s the right thing to do, in one ear and out the other. I’m talking about really breathing in the life Christ gave us through his resurrection! Allowing that breath, given by God himself, to rejuvenate every physical, emotional and spiritual fiber of me. Awake to live joyfully as a redeemed follower of the Most High God!
What are some ways to do this?
1. Prayer - ask God to be very real in our lives. Thomas doubted and Jesus showed him. He will show us too!
2. Attitude - a 24-hour smile with gratitude springing up like In John 4:14. Sincerely think about those that don’t have the joy of Jesus.
3. God jobs - Listen to our hearts as God moves us to help others through testimony or acts of service or kindness. Obedience Is always best!
If you have a daily awakening method, I’d love to hear it. I’m persuaded if we awake to righteousness more days than not, we will please God and shine his light into a growing darkness. Are you with me? Who wants to wake up to righteousness?
