The Five P's of a Positive Mom

mother's day

The 5 P’s of a Positive Mom as seen In scriptures. God gave us some clear guidance on what It takes to be a good mom; follow him and execute…

1. Protector
Moses’ mom went to extremes to protect him from the deadly decree of Pharoah. Built an ark and shoved him into the water. If God gave us a similar plan, could we do it?

2. Provider
The widow had enough meal and oil to bake a cake for her son and herself then starve to death. Elijah gave her instructions to feed him first and God would keep the meal and oil plentiful until it rained. Giving to God is always the best way to provide for your household and others.

3. Perseverance
Hannah was barren. She prayed many years to have a son and promised to give him back to God. She had Samuel and did as she promised. Her consistency in her prayer and sincerity touched God. Many times we give up way too soon on God. Perseverance is key in touching God with a fruit of the spirit; longsuffering.

4. Power
1 Corinthians 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Mom’s have to do things that others may think is crazy, like going to church instead of playing a sport. The wisdom of the world knows nothing of the power of our God. Mom’s, we must show our children, not just tell them or expect the church to do all the work. Our children must witness the power of God in our lives so they have an example to live theirs.

5. Purpose
Mary knew the purpose of her son. She still forgot Jesus at the temple and had to return to find him. Who does that? Forgets their kids, much less Jesus!!! lol He asked if she didn’t want him to be about his Father’s business. She was confused but ultimately knew the work Jesus had to do. Many times the path our children chose may not be what we envisioned for them. Our job is to teach them Jesus and let him guide their future, whether we agree or disagree. We gave birth. God gives purpose.
I hope these 5 P’s help to encourage positivity in your role as a mom. Happy Mother’s Day! You’re doing a wonderful job! 🩷

Many Blessings,
